Glossary & domains

Define business terms so the assistant uses your team's vocabulary.

What is a glossary?

The glossary captures the vocabulary of your business — the terms, acronyms, and metrics your team uses when talking about data. Each glossary term has a clear definition that the assistant uses to interpret questions correctly.

For example, defining "active user" as "a user with at least one login in the last 30 days" means every conversation about active users will use the same definition, instead of leaving it up to interpretation.

Domains & terms

Terms are organized into domains — groups of related concepts, such as Sales, Marketing, or Finance. Domains keep the glossary structured and let you apply a consistent vocabulary across the databases and datasets that belong to them.

When a term is defined in a domain, the assistant automatically takes it into account for conversations about data in that domain. This is what makes answers consistent across your whole team, even when different people phrase the same question differently.

Suggest updates

Glossary terms can be proposed, reviewed, and published. If a definition is missing or outdated, you can suggest an update and an administrator or domain owner can review and publish it.

Keeping the glossary up to date is the single most impactful thing your team can do to improve the accuracy of the assistant over time.
